An Aubergine Octogon in Nipomo

Updated: Sep 28, 2021

Nestled near her home, that sits on 5 acres, Lois wants an octagon shaped structure like Quirk! She also wants it painted the same colors as Neal Crook (teenage mutant ninja turtle colors) Her shed is frame in Douglas fir that is painted Soft Eggplant (aubergine). The siding and shiplap cedar are painted Kale. The roof is Royal Slate composition shingles with a 1 foot overhang all around.

Every wall expect the back wall opposite the doors feature large clear windows. The front wall has single lite french doors. Large fixed windows flank the doors to this unique shed. Framed into the next wall on each side this octagon are three windows, a center casement window and two fixed windows. And finally flanking, the back wall which will feature a mounted television, are yet two more windows. Lots of light and ways to bring in fresh air are components of this aubergine, eggplant, and kale shed.

The "Touch of Sand" paint used on all the interior wall mimics the color of the sand on the nearby Guadalupe Dunes. Custom retractable screens are on all the casement windows and the doors. Whether doors and windows open or closed this is a space to relax and enjoy a space that evokes the child in everyone, who was your favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle?

Lois loves her she shed, she plans to have it as a space to watch tv and have some quiet time!
