A Siren in White

This client has been a friend of APG for many years when she first purchased a reclaimed potting table from us! She has kept in contact and said that someday she would get her She Shed. Well the day has come and she helped design and pick out the windows & doors for her shed bringing them together artfully in her design! The entire shed is framed in Douglass fir. The structure used paint color "Queen Anne's Lace," a beautiful creamy white, and then we distressed the interior and exterior, reminiscent of the white picket fences of Santorini. The gabled roof is corrugated metal with a 1' overhang all the way around.

The doors she selected are custom doors from a home in Cambria that was remodeled. Crystal door knobs sparkle on these doors. She lives near the ocean so her mermaid weather vane was the perfect topper for her shed! Next to the front doors are sidelights featuring 10 light windows that enhance these beautiful doors and allow light to flood the shed no matter what time of day. Lexan has been installed over the louvers at the bottom of the doors to keep the weather out. The gable ends are horizontal shiplap from reclaimed fence boards.

The back wall is solid wood for versatility in decorating and creating. The right wall features six pane casement windows that swing out letting in fresh sea breezes. On the left wall a transom window adds even more air in this creative space.

She plans to sew in her shed which is a creative outlet for her. She creates the most extraordinarily beautiful purses using reclaimed upholstery samples, a true soul sister to us here at APG and we know that her creativity will flourish in this unique sacred space.
